Dr Tim Mahony passes away

Dr Tim Mahony, former Cork and Dublin hurler and footballer died earlier today.

Dr Mahony was the founding chairman of Toyota Ireland and through his company has generously supported Gaelic Games over many years. Toyota are current sponsors of the All-Ireland Senior Football championship.

Mr Nickey Brennan, president of the GAA said that: "Tim Mahony was a man who left an indelible imprint on the sporting, business and cultural landscape of Ireland. His passing will be mourned by all who had the privilege of having known him."

Brennan extended his sympathy to the Mahony family, his colleagues and huge circle of friends countrywide.
