Ireland will have teams in both the men's and women's rowing finals.

The Irish team of Claire Lamb and Sinead Lynch will row in the Women’s Lightweight Double Sculls final at Rio.

Limerick based Donegal native Lynch and Dublin's Lambe booked the place with a third-place finish in their semi-final this afternoon. At one point they were second, but had to dig deep to seal their qualification.

They were quickly followed by Gary and Paul O'Donovan, who also came third in their semi-final - booking their place in the Men’s Lightweight Double Sculls final.

In golf, Padraig Harrington is three off the lead on level par after five holes; Graham De Laet leads by one shot on three under after six holes.

Ireland’s other entrant Seamus Power starts just before three.
