Di Matteo to make changes for Cup clash

West Brom head coach Roberto Di Matteo is expected to ring the changes for tomorrow’s home Carling Cup clash with Manchester City.

Di Matteo made 11 alterations to his line-up for the 2-0 away triumph over Leyton Orient in the previous round.

The former Chelsea player is not expected to take such drastic measures for the visit of Roberto Mancini’s side.

But the likes of Roman Bednar, Steven Reid, Gianni Zuiverloon and Giles Barnes will be in contention for a rare start.

Nicky Shorey is one player expected to be retained from the weekend win over Birmingham as fellow left-backs Marek Cech and Joe Mattock are not ready to return from injury.

Provisional squad: Carson, Myhill, Jara, Tamas, Olsson, Shorey, Brunt, Mulumbu, Brunt, Scharner, Odemwingie, Fortune, Dorrans, Barnes, Bednar, Reid, Wood, Zuiverloon, Cox, Ibanez, Tchoyi, Barnett.
