Del Boy back at Newbury

Del Boy back at Newbury

Delegator will face 14 rivals as he makes his eagerly-anticipated return to action in the Dubai Duty Free Cup at Newbury on Friday.

Godolphin’s Dansili colt was second to wonder horse Sea The Stars in last year’s 2000 Guineas and was placed on a further two occasions at Group One level.

He has been sidelined with injury since running fifth behind Goldikova in November’s Breeders’ Cup Mile but will be back in action at Listed level in Berkshire.

He is one of three runners for trainer Saeed bin Suroor, with stable companions Ashram and Huntdown also in the line-up.

Alain de Royer-Dupre sends Code Of War across the Channel to compete, while Yaa Wayl is a major contender for Michael Jarvis.

Another interesting participant is the Mark Johnston-trained Awzaan.

The Alhaarth colt was a Group One winner as a juvenile and although he fluffed his lines on his return in the 2000 Guineas, his recent third at Haydock offered some encouragement.

Palace Moon, Prince Of Dance and Finjaan are other notable runners.
