Coyle faces defensive headache

Burnley manager Owen Coyle will monitor the fitness of centre-backs Steven Caldwell and Clarke Carlisle ahead of the Barclays Premier League match against Everton tomorrow.

Both players were forced to miss the 1-1 draw with Bolton yesterday because of groin problems.

Coyle could freshen things up as his side bid for their first league win on the road this season.

Provisional squad: Jensen, Mears, Jordan, Carlisle, Bikey, Caldwell, Eagles, Alexander, Elliott, McDonald, Fletcher, Duff, Nugent, Blake, Thompson, Penny, Guerrero, Gudjonsson.
