Conor Gormley announces retirement

Tyrone footballer Conor Gormley has announced his retirement from inter-county football.

The 34-year-old won multiple All-Irelands and five Ulster titles since he first lined out for Tyrone in 2000, winning his first Ulster title in his debut season.

He won three All-Irelands with the county - in 2003, 2005 and 2008 - and in each of those years also won an All-Star.

The defender holds the record for most senior championship games for Tyrone, overtaking Brian Dooher during the last season. He played 75 championship games for the county and made 180 appearances in total for the senior team.

Gormley also won four Tyrone Senior Championship titles with his club, Carrickmore St. Colmcille's.
