Chepstow abandoned

Wednesday’s meeting at Chepstow has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track.

Clerk of the course Keith Ottesen had planned to inspect the track at 8.30am on raceday but he has made an early call after the track received more rain than expected overnight.

He said: “We had some heavy rain overnight and this morning and the forecast for tomorrow has worsened as well.

“We are waterlogged now and there’s no point in wasting people’s time any further. We were hoping for a bit of a break but in light of the forecast, we’re not going to get there.”
