Bubba Watson shuts down golf fan heckling Rickie Fowler

Bubba Watson leapt to a fellow golfer’s defence yesterday at the Memorial tournament in Ohio.

Watson was playing with fellow American Rickie Fowler, who was having a day to forget.

When Fowler missed a putt to bogey the final hole, someone heckled him from the crowd.

Although what was shouted is inaudible in the clip, Fowler had a negative reaction, turning to glare at the crowd.

He said nothing and finished out the hole but Watson, who is good friends with Fowler, wasn’t willing to let it drop.

"Who said it?” he asked the fans.

When there was no response, he added after a few seconds: “Oh, you're not tough now, are you?"

There was total silence from the gallery as the golfers walked away.

Never fear Rickie, Bubba's got your back.
