Bolger excited by Chabal progress

Jim Bolger is in no rush to make any big plans for Chabal following his impressive victory in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Leopardstown yesterday.

Running in the famous colours of Lady O’Reilly, the Galileo colt stretched readily clear of his rivals to leave the impression he was destined for better things.

Bolger said of the newcomer: “He is a very nice two-year-old – he very slightly tweaked a muscle earlier in the season.

“He has still got a bit to learn, and he wouldn’t be certain to run again this season.

“We’ll see over the next couple of weeks, but he’s a horse with a future.”
