Bohs back to winning ways

Bohemians 3 Dundalk 2

Jason Byrne scored twice as champions Bohemians got back to winning ways to move four points clear at the top of the Premier Division table.

Paul Keegan shot Bohs in front on 13 minutes from striker Paddy Madden’s knock down from a Killian Brennan corner.

Dundalk battled back and availed of a dreadful clearance from keeper Matt Gregg to level on 37 minutes when Ger Rowe lobbed home.

But Byrne struck his first to restore Bohs’ lead within four minutes, blasting home after great work by Conor Powell and Madden.

Byrne added his second to put Bohs 3-1 up on 51 minutes.

Dundalk hit back on 85 minutes with Michael McGowan’s fiercely struck free-kick taking a slight deflection to beat Gregg.

The visitors then had midfielder Michael Collins sent off a minute from time fro a second booking.
