Aquarius woe as Blue claims cup

Odds-on favourite Age Of Aquarius broke down when in front in the Artemis Goodwood Cup, in which Illustrious Blue ran out a popular winner.

Johnny Murtagh set out to make all on the Ascot Gold Cup runner-up but with around half a mile to go he was sharply pulled up.

That left Electrolyser in front and it looked like he had an unassailable lead two furlongs out.

But Jim Crowley got into overdrive on the William Knight-trained Illustrious Blue to bring up his seventh win on the Sussex Downs.
