Anniversary Hurdle goes to Walkon

Triumph Hurdle runner-up Walkon has gone one better with a very impressive display in the Matalan Anniversary 4-Y-O Novices' Hurdle at Aintree.

The 2-1 favourite travelled strongly throughout in the hands of Robert Thornton and came to take the lead from Ski Sunday after jumping three from home.

The latter refused to go down without a fight but Walkon had too many guns and stretched clear on the run to the line to score by 13 lengths.

Starluck was the same distance away in third.
