Accies trip too soon for Ferguson

Barry Ferguson will not make his long-awaited comeback in Rangers’ Clydesdale Bank Premier League game at Hamilton.

The Ibrox skipper played for the first time in five months in a reserve match midweek but is not yet fit enough to return to the first team.

But Lee McCulloch (knee), Chris Burke (ankle) and Steven Whittaker (knee) all are and could be named in the squad for the visit to New Douglas Park.

Provisional squad: McGregor, Broadfoot, Papac, Weir, Bougherra, Thomson, Lafferty, Mendes, Adam, Davis, Darcheville, Boyd, Miller, Alexander, Beasley, Dailly, Niguez, Loy, McCulloch, Whittaker, Burke.
