This is how to get your hands on Gymshark’s sold-out ombre leggings

Let’s be frank – some pieces of activewear are just begging to be Instagrammed.

Take Varley’s marble print co-ords and Nike’s flyknit Thea trainers for example. If you didn’t take a gratuitous selfie in the gym mirror while working up a sweat in them, did you really even workout at all?

Now a quick scroll through Instagram has pretty much convinced us that Gymshark’s ombre leggings are set to be the next big influencer-approved trend.

The super flattering seamless leggings, which feature an two-tone fade up the leg, were only released by the US brand last week, but they’ve already prompted a mega sales rush on the website and have completely sold out.To add insult to injury, from what we can gather, every big fitness Instagrammer has managed to snap up a pair of the hotly coveted tights – and we’re seething with activewear jealousy.

If you simply need a pair of these in your life (and let’s face it, you do), the bad news is that Gymshark hasn’t confirmed when the £40 leggings will be back online.

We’ve done some digging and, short of paying double for a pair on Ebay, the best way of getting your mitts on the ombre trews is to sign up to the waitlist on the website and keep an eagle eye on your inbox. Gymshark say they’ll be sending out an email as soon as each of the three available colours – peach pink, chalk pink and violet – come back into stock.

If you simply can’t wait that long (and hey, we don’t blame you), we’ve found a couple of similar high street options that will do the job just as well.

Say hello to these MyProtein beauties. The new range of ‘second skin’ leggings, which cost £32, have a similar seamless fabric with a grey to white fading design that could totally pass as the real deal from a distance.

If you’re on a tighter budget, New Look has come to the rescue with a pair of cheap and cheerful £15.99 leggings (available on ASOS) that have the same light to dark trend and the handy benefit of keeping your visible on a night-time run (safety, first guys).

Got a bit of creative flair? You could always save yourself some money and try dyeing the bottom half of a pair of plain white leggings at home – check out this super thrifty DIY YouTube tutorial here.

Otherwise, you’ll have to stay glued to your emails all day, like we’ll be doing.

Either way, get ready to see a whole lot more ombre activewear in your next spin class.
