Eoin was a winner of Kilkenny Shop’s inaugural Open Call, where applicants working in fashion, accessories, textiles, jewellery, glassware, ceramics, pottery, fragrance, and wellness entered a ‘Dragons’ Den’ style process to find the winners. They are being showcased right now in a pop-up in its Nassau St store.

If you’ve got ooh, let’s say €1,199.95 to spare, why not treat yourself to the Sage Barista Touch coffee machine. It’s a semi-automatic espresso machine that delivers cafe-quality coffee, but the thing that really caught my eye — and my imagination — is the automatic milk texturing. I’d have great craic making foamy designs in the cup of coffee in the morning. I’m easily amused. This one shall remain on the wishful thinking side of the list. Another winner of the Kilkenny Shop’s Open Call is Belfast ceramicist Helen Faulkner. She created her brand six years ago and we love her handmade tableware, Helen says it’s inspired by her love of food and how it brings people together. Søstrene Grene’s spring campaign is hitting stores on Thursday, March 1. The Danish retail chain specialises in all things Hygge. This blanket is a perfect example and I am hoping to see it in the Cork store on St Patrick St. It’s €34.90. sostrenegrene.com

I recently heard about Quiet Mark, an organisation that tests consumer tech for noise levels and sound quality, and awards the quietest models with the ‘Quiet Mark’. 

Basically, giving quiet design the thumbs up. We found this clock that fits the bill. it’s the Lumie Bodyclock and how it works is, it wakes you up very gradually by emitting increasing natural light. Beats a two-year-old bouncing on your head. quietmark.com
