The so-called ‘vampire facial’ has been famous in the beauty world ever since Kim Kardashian posted a picture of her bloody face on Instagram saying that she had tried the treatment.
Actually called the platelet-rich plasma or PRP facial, it involves extracting plasma from a patient’s blood and injecting it back into their face.
But how does it actually happen? What are the benefits? And, most importantly, does it hurt?
To find out, we joined Dr Unnati Desai at Urban Aesthetix Clinic as she completed a PRP facial.
As you can imagine, with blood and needles involved it’s a pretty gory procedure – this treatment is not for the squeamish.
