Bilbao, Spain is known for many things, from tasty food to the famous Guggenheim Museum – and now as the latest host of the MTV European Music Awards (EMAs).
Camila Cabello was the big winner of the night, with everyone from Nicki Minaj to Dua Lipa in attendance.
This isn’t your average awards show where celebs walk the red carpet in flowing gowns. Instead, the EMAs are more of a party, and an opportunity for famous faces to have a bit of fun with their fashion.
Here are some of the best and most eye-catching looks of the night…
Jesy Nelson of Little Mix stood out from her bandmates in a hot pink suit – and it’s actually an affordable option from Forever Unique. It’s currently on sale on Asos, and you can get the blazer for £90. Unfortunately the suit trousers (£54) are currently out of stock, but hopefully will be back soon.
Opting for a bold block red dress, Camila Cabello wore an Alex Perry gown, which was more princessy than you usually see at the EMAs. However, we can firmly call it our dream dress based on the fact it has pockets.
Dua Lipa’s style is consistently inspired by the Eighties, so her YSL floral minidress with hot pink detailing and power shoulders should come as no surprise.
No, this isn’t 2005, and yes, that really is Lindsay Lohan on the red carpet, in a gold ruffled minidress from YSL.
Singer Bebe Rexha went all out in head-to-toe Moschino in collaboration with H&M (collection available from November 8). Even though it’s another more affordable option, thigh-high black boots with black gloves and a sparkly minidress are definitely for the bold.
As the host of the EMAs, this was just one of many outfits Hailee Steinfeld donned. It’s hard to tell whether this Giorgio Armani outfit is more bow than dress, but the magpie in us loves the sparkles. One thing we’re not so sure on is the clear plastic shoes – a Kardashian-approved trend that is apparently a hotbed for germs.
It wasn’t just the women bringing it in the style stakes, but also the men. And when we say ‘the men’, we basically just mean actor Terry Crews. He started off the night in a shiny green jacket, looking exceptionally pleased to be there…
… then changed into a pink suit with a plum turtleneck underneath – an example of colour clashing done well.
Onstage performances at the EMAs are where you can count on the weirdest and wildest outfits though. If you thought the red carpet was experimental, think again.
Take Bebe Rexha, who emerged from a bathtub to kick off her performance, wearing a bright red latex bodysuit with giant puffy sleeves and thigh-high red boots.
Singer Anne-Marie appeared to have taken inspiration from the Kardashians – she wore cycling shorts and a bra during her performance with Marshmello.
And Nicki Minaj wore a floral pink bodysuit, which is actually a little tame for her…
