Young pedestrian seriously hurt by after being struck by car

A five-year-old boy has been seriously injured after he was hit by a car while out walking.

It happened at Mulhurrig, near Kiltealy in north Co Wexford, this morning.

He was rushed to Wexford General Hospital by ambulance, where he is reported to be in a critical condition.

The road between Kiltealy and Killane remains sealed off for forensic examination by the Gardaí.

Gardaí are seeking any witnesses to the accident to contact Enniscorthy garda station on 053-92-33534.
