Woman threatened at gunpoint by masked man in Co Antrim

A woman has been threatened at gunpoint at a house in Co Antrim.

The incident happened when a masked man forced his way into a property in the Hillside Drive area of Dunloy on Monday.

The woman and her daughter barricaded themselves into a bedroom until police arrived.

Detective Constable Marty McCaw from the Police Service of Northern Ireland said: "We are making every effort to identify the man with the gun. He is described as being around 5ft 7ins tall and of stocky build with a local accent. He was wearing a black sweat top, dark or blue bottoms and a woollen mask.

"I am appealing for anyone who may have been in the area around the time and witnessed anything suspicious, or who may have any information regarding this incident, to contact detectives from reactive and organised crime branch in Coleraine on 101."
