Woman dies in Cavan house fire

A woman in her 30s has died in a house fire in Co Cavan.

The blaze broke out in the Drumlins estate in Virginia just before 6am this morning.

Two men and two women - all in their 30s - were in the house at the time.

One of the women was pronounced dead at the scene, while the three others were taken to hospital.

A post mortem examination will be carried out on the dead woman's body at Our Lady's Hospital in Navan.

The scene of the fire is now being examined by the garda forensics team.
