Labour Minister Alex White has said the Government will not call an early General Election.
The latest opinion poll shows a surge in support for both government parties, leading to speculation the coalition might want the public to vote soon after October's budget.
Fine Gael are up three points to 28% since July, while Labour have risen by two points bringing them to 10%.
“I think it (the election) will be February/March,” said White.
“I have no reason to believe that the Taoiseach and Tánaiste have changed their minds in relation to that. I think parties have to be ready.”
