Viable explosive discovered under car in Tallaght

Gardaí are investigating the discovery of a suspicious device in Dublin overnight.

The Army Bomb Disposal Team arrived on scene at 4.10am and examined the device which was located under a car at Kilakee Drive in the Greenhills area of Tallaght.

A number of homes in the area were evacuated.

The scene was declared safe at around 5am, and the suspicious device has now been handed over to the Gardaí to assist with their investigations.
