Varadkar to unveil Gathering plans

Tourism Minister Leo Varadkar will unveil plans for the Gathering this afternoon.

The tourism initiative includes a wide variety of festivals, events, and attractions which will take place during 2013.

The plan has come in for some harsh criticism in recent weeks, with personalities like Gabriel Byrne dismissing it as a "scam".

Yesterday, Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary said the Gathering was a "rip-off" and should be renamed 'The Grabbing', something which Minister Varadkar rejected as "entertaining".
