Two houses targeted in Limerick attacks

Gardaí in Limerick are investigating attacks on two houses in the city overnight.

A number of shots are believed to have been fired at a house on the Hyde Road at around 1am.

The occupants escaped injury and have since been moved to another location while the scene is examined.

Meanwhile, gardai were also alerted to an explosion at a house in the Bengal Terrace area at around 5am.

Detectives believe a pipe bomb may have been thrown at the premises.
