Two firms create 90 jobs in Cork and Athlone

Ninety new jobs are being announced today in Cork and Athlone.

Fifty positions are being created by Zevas Communications at its headquarters on the Monahan Road in Cork.

Two hundred are already employed there.

A pharmaceutical plant is to create 40 new jobs in Athlone with the opening of a vialling facility.

Alexion recently bought two buildings on the Alkermes site which had been vacant for some time.

The firm is set to invest €20m in the Athlone site, which currently employs about 400 people, to enhance their presence in the town.
