Two arrested after number of robberies and burglaries in Dublin area

Gardaí have arrested two people in connection with a number of robberies and burglaries in the Dublin region.

The man and woman - who are both in their 20s - were detained at 7am this morning when gardaí searched a number of locations in Dun Laoghaire, Booterstown and Blackrock.

A number of weapons - including machetes and pepper spray - along with a large quantity of jewellery, computer parts, electrical tools and garden tools were also recovered during the searches.

The man is being questioned under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act while the woman is due before the District Court this morning.
