Tuam family fall victim to aggravated burglary

Gardaí in Tuam are investigating an aggravated burglary that occurred at Parkwest, Clonberne, Co Galway on Tuesday January 5, at approximately 7.30pm.

A man and woman in their early 30's were returning home from work, with their two children, when three men entered the house and assaulted the man and woman.

They received non life threatening injuries. The two children were uninjured.

The men took a sum of money and phones and left the house.

They are described as being East European men, thinly built and were between 170 to 180 cm in height.

They left the scene but it is not known what direction they took.

Investigating Gardaí are seeking the public's assistance for anyone who may have seen anything unusual in the area from 7pm to 8 pm on the Tuesday night, January 5, 2016 to contact Tuam Garda Station on 093 70840, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
