Truckers will block capital this week

Truckers say they will bring traffic to a stand still in the capital this week.

A convoy of more than 200 trucks from the Midlands Hauliers Association are taking their protest over price hikes in diesel and vehicle registration tax to the streets.

The new prices for VRT were announced yesterday.

However, spokesperson Mick Flynn says his members are furious.

He says truckers are sick and tired of being the whipping boy of Irish industries.
