Toddler in critical condition after 'assault'

A very young girl is battling for life after an alleged assault in the North, a hospital confirmed today.

A 30-year-old man was arrested and the 15-month-old child rushed to treatment in Belfast.

The attack happened at Glebe Park, Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh.

A spokeswoman for the Royal Hospital said: “Earlier on, she was critical.”

Police confirmed there had been an arrest and said the man was assisting with inquiries.

Glebe Park is a residential area of the lakeside town on the road to Tempo.
