Three men to appear in court after €56k Cobh cocaine seizure

Three men are due in court in Cork charged in connection with a drug seizure on Monday.

€56,000 worth of cocaine was found at a premises in Cobh as part of an intelligence led operation involving Revenue’s Customs Service based in Dublin and Cork, Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and Cork Divisional Drugs Unit.

Gardai believe the drugs originated in Johnnesburg.

Three men aged between 30 and 45 were arrested and detained at Cobh Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

They can be detained for up to seven days and they are due to appear before Midleton District Court this morning.

Gardaí have said investigations are continuing.
