Three men charged with attempted murder

Three men were tonight charged with attempted murder following a stabbing at the weekend.

A man was injured when he was attacked and stabbed in the arm with a screwdriver in the Springhill Rise area of West Belfast on Saturday.

The trio, aged 18, 19 and 23, were also charged with a series of public order offences and with causing an affray.

The PSNI said they were due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court in the morning.

Earlier a 19-year-old appeared in court charged with attempted murder in connection with the same offence and a 17-year-old with possessing an offensive weapon.
