Three men have been arrested after a firearm, ammunition and cannabis plants were uncovered in County Longford yesterday.
The arrests were made by gardaí targeting criminal activity in the county.
A shotgun and a quantity of ammunition was recovered when Gardaí raided a house in the Ballymahon area.
A man in his early 30s was arrested at the scene and is being detained at Longford Garda Station.
During a second search on a house in Ballymahon, cannabis plants with an estimated street value of 30 thousand euro was seized along with cultivation equipment.
Two men - aged in their late 20s and mid 30s - were arrested at the scene.
They are also being held at Longford Garda Station.
