Three arrested in Longford as patrol car is rammed

Gardaí in Longford have arrested three men after a Garda patrol car and two private vehicles were rammed on the N4 this evening.

The incident happened at around 5.20pm, between Longford and Edgeworthstown, near Shroid.

Gardaí were pursuing the men as part of an ongoing investigation into dangerous driving incidences in the Mullingar area, earlier in the afternoon.

During the chase, the men rammed their car into the Garda patrol vehicle and into two private cars.

No one was injured during the incident.

The men are currently being detained at Longford Garda Station.
