Three arrested by gardaí investigating 'squalid' Carlow puppy farm

Gardaí investigating alleged animal cruelty at a farm in Co Carlow have arrested a man and two women during an operation this morning.

All three, who are aged in their 40s, are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Carlow Garda Station.

The investigation commenced in April of this year when 351 dogs and 11 horses were removed from a farm in Co Carlow.

The 11-day joint operation involving An Garda Síochána, Carlow County Council and the ISPCA was described as "unprecedented" by the animal charity.
