Thousands of anti-abortion campaigners gather outside Dáil

Several thousand anti-abortion campaigners gathered outside the Dáil in Dublin this evening, calling on the Government not to bring in legislation for the X-case.

It comes as TDs and Ministers in Leinster House begin debating this evening whether legislation should be introduced to allow abortion in cases where the woman's life is at risk - including suicide.

Demonstrators outside the Dáil put up large screens on the street - showing images of babies.

These people said they wanted to send a clear message to the Government.
