ESB crews are continuing to restore power to around 2,000 homes and businesses this afternoon who are still without electricity.

The outages occurred overnight following thunderstorms and strong winds.

More than 9,000 households were affected, but ESB says the majority have now had their full service restored.

However, up to 2,000 homes in West Cork remain without power.
