Teenager due in court in connection with Galway assault

A man in his late teens is due before a special sitting of Galway District Court this morning, in connection with an incident in Tuam, County Galway, early yesterday.

A 22-year-old man remains in a serious condition in hospital after a rock was thrown at him and he was attacked by a gang of men on Milltown Road at 3.30am on Sunday morning.

He suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

An 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and he is due to appear at Galway District Court soon.
