Teenager due in court after cannabis plants seized in Longford

A 19-year-old man is to appear in court this morning in connection with the seizure of €112,000 worth of cannabis plants in Longford.

The discovery was made when gardaí carried out a planned search at a house in Prospect Woods, Longford last night at around 10pm as part of on-going intelligence-led operations.

The plants were found in what has been described as an elaborate grow house.

The 19-year-old was arrested at the scene and will appear before Athlone District Court this morning.
