Teenager arrested in connection with Monaghan assault is released

A 19-year-old man who was arrested in connection with an assault in Monaghan has been released from custody.

A man in his late 20's was found on the side of the road at Woodview in Killygowan just before midnight on Thursday.

He is being treated for serious head injuries at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

Gardaí will prepare a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
