Teen driver killed in Cork crash

A teenage driver was killed and four others injured in a single vehicle car crash, gardaí said today.

The 18-year-old man was driving at Spurhill, Togher, in Cork, at about 9.15pm last night when the accident happened.

Gardaí said all five occupants of the car were taken to Cork University Hospital.

The young driver was later pronounced dead.

“The other four occupants, who are all male and in their late teens, are not thought to be seriously injured,” said a garda spokesman.

“The scene of the collision is preserved for forensic technical examination.”
