Teen, 16, killed in Donegal crash

A 16-year-old died when the car he was driving collided with a van in Co Donegal.

The underage driver, who was travelling alone, was killed instantly in the collision on the Letterkenny to Derry road in Co Donegal.

Two others – the driver of the van and a passenger – were injured in the accident and taken to Letterkenny General Hospital.

Gardaí said their injuries are not believed to be serious.

The crash happened on the N13 at Moyle, Newtowncunningham, at approximately 9pm last night.

A garda spokesman said: “The scene of the collision remains closed pending a technical examination by Garda Road Traffic Collision Investigators.”

Diversions were in place.
