Taoiseach to announce minor reshuffle of junior ministers

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is reportedly set to announce a minor reshuffle of his junior ministers this week.

Reports this morning said Mr Ahern would finally fill the vacancy created by the departure of Junior Transport Minister Ivor Callely, with Sean Haughey widely being tipped to get the job.

Some political commentators have predicted that the Taoiseach will use the occasion to announce a range of changes to his junior ministerial team.

However, this morning's reports said he had indicated that he would be only making minimal changes, including a widely predicted move for Marine Minister Pat 'the Cope' Gallagher.
