Talks are to take place at the Workplace Relations Commission today at 10.30am in an effort to avert a strike by Luas staff next month.
The Luas operator Transdev and SIPTU representatives will attend.
The talks are aimed at finding a resolution to a dispute over workers terms and conditions.
Staff have voted for two 48-hour work stoppages next month unless there's a breakthrough.
SIPTUs Owen Reidy is hoping that the company will commit to better wages for staff: “Well we’re hoping to get a new approach from the employer, we are hoping they are going to come with some positivity, some flexibility and we are hoping they are going to take this thing more seriously then they have for the last 18 months.
“We are hoping that they are going to offer a decent offer of pay to try and move things forward and ultimately to reach a resolution, ideally without any dispute.”
