Swimmer airlifted to safety in Co Sligo

A swimmer has been airlifted to safety in Co Sligo.

It happened this afternoon when a member of the local RNLI Life Boat crew spotted someone in difficulty at Rosses Point and raised the alarm.

The Sligo based Coast Guard helicopter was operating in the area and was quickly on scene, where it located the swimmer and brought him to safety.
