Students arrested after sit-in at Taoiseach's constituency office

Six students were arrested in Co Mayo earlier - after they staged a sit in protest at Enda Kenny's constituency office in Castlebar.

The five men and one woman, all in their early 20s, were detained under the public order act at lunchtime, when they refused to leave the Taoiseach's office.

They were protesting about the Budget measure that raised the qualifying income threshold for the student maintenance grant by 3%.

They have since been released without charge.
