Six arrested for drink driving and three cars seized in Garda operation

Six motorists have been arrested for drink driving offences and three vehicles seized for insurance and tax issues.

Gardaí attached to the Regional Traffic Division in the Dublin Metropolitan West, North and South mounted a checkpoint on the N3 dual carriageway near Clonee between midnight and 3.30am.

One unlicenced taxi driver was also detected during the operation, which also involved staff from Revenue Customs Service and the National Transport Authority.

In total, 217 motorists were breath tested during the course of the checkpoint.
