SF calls for all-Ireland sex abuse initiative

Sinn Féin is calling for an all-Ireland sex abuse initiative after further allegations of abuse by an IRA member.

In a BBC programme last night 40-year-old Paudie McGahon claimed he was raped in the early 1990s, when he was 17.

He also has said he was interrogated by an IRA “kangaroo court” in 2002.

In the Dáil yesterday, Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams said the allegations of how Mr McGahon was treated were a matter of “very, very deep regret” for him.
