Second man held in connection with Offaly murder

A second man remains in custody in connection with the killing of Offaly publican Matt Farrell.

The man, who is in his twenties, is being held at Tullamore garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Earlier another man also in his twenties was detained by gardaí investigating the publican's death.

The 64-year-old died from head injuries in what is believed to have been a botched robbery at his pub in Daingean last week.
