Gardaí investigating the shooting of Dublin criminal 'The Viper' have arrested a man this morning.
The 24-year-old was detained in Ranelagh at 8.45am.
He is the second person to be arrested in connection with the assassination attempt and is being held at Crumlin Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
On the 26th of January last, convicted gang criminal Martin Foley, known as the Viper, was leaving the Carlisle Gym on the Lower Kimmage Road in Dublin when he was attacked.
He was shot several times as he sat in his car, and tried to drive away to escape his attackers.
The 55-year-old was rushed to Saint James Hospital in a critical condition.
It was the fourth time the notorious criminal survived an assassination attempt.
