The search for a missing lobster fisherman off the coast is being stood down for the night.

The 24-year-old had been out fishing in Broadhaven bay yesterday when he failed to return to harbour. His empty boat has since been located.

The Malin Head coast guard, Rescue 115 and dive teams will renew their efforts at first light tomorrow.

The search is focused in the area south-west of Benwee Head.
